Responsible Association of Retailers has become one the the leading TiPS training resources in the Northern Colorado area. All of the TiPS courses are instructed by Nathan Dewey, who is officially certified as a TiPS trainer and is the RAR program specialist. TiPS certifications are officially recognized by the state of Colorado and the local liquor licensing authorities as a authorized mandatory and voluntary responsible alcohol vending program. These programs are also recognized in all 50 states in the United States, and in over 50 countries internationally.
RAR members are able to take advantage of all the TiPS programs whenever they have a new hire or need to re-certify one of their existing employees. The fees for the TiPS courses are included in the RAR members annual membership dues. New members to RAR get a one-time in-house training for the full staff.
For those who are not interested in a full RAR membership, but are looking for TiPS training for their business, company, organization, club, etc., RAR offers the training to these non-members at a cost of $35 per person.

The On Premise program, our core offering, is a four to five-hour program designed for servers at restaurants, bars, hotels, in-store tastings, or other establishments where alcohol is consumed on the premises. Employees learn strategies that ensure responsible alcohol service, promote professionalism, and enhance customer service skills.
The Off Premise program is a three-hour program addressing the sale of alcohol at grocery stores, liquor stores, convenience stores and package stores. Clerks learn strategies for preventing illegal alcohol sales to underage and/or intoxicated patrons.
The Concessions program is a three-hour program for environments such as stadiums, arenas, theaters, concert halls, fairs, amusement parks and festivals. The focus of this program is on assessing patrons in a short period of time to prevent illegal alcohol sales.
The University program is a two-hour program tailored for students at universities and colleges. This program gives students the skills they need to intervene with their peers in social situations to prevent alcohol-related incidents.
The Seniors program is a two-hour program specifically for senior citizens. This program focuses on the special challenges alcohol consumption can pose for the elderly. Participants gain knowledge about intervention strategies targeted to this segment of the population
TenderWise is a Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division certified Responsible Vendor Training. This class provides cannabis industry budtenders, managers, and owners with education on Colorado marijuana laws, policies and procedures. This class is designed to help responsibly sell cannabis and cannabis infused products in a our Colorado legalized and regulated environment. Special attention is given to preventing youth access, reducing at-risk activities and other harms that bring negative attention to the industry. We want to help partner with the industry for responsible use and sale.
RAR Cannabis Chapter members receive unlimited TenderWise enrollments per year for $20.00 per attendee. This covers the cost of materials for the TenderWise Responsible Vendor Program. Non RAR Members can register for any of our existing classes for $100 per attendee.
